Here you will find all terms used throughout Art 7
Unit 1:
Linear Perspective Terms:
Linear Perspective: A form of perspective in drawing and painting in which parallel lines are represented as converging so as to give the illusion of depth and distance. Vanishing Point: that point toward which receding parallel lines appear to converge. (or come together) Horizon Line: the line that the vanishing point is located on Receding: Retreat or become more distant Connector Lines: the line that connects the orthogonal lines together. Orthogonal Lines: lines that extend from the original shape toward the vanishing point Optical Illusion: A visually perceived image that is deceptive or misleading. Two-Dimensional: having the dimensions of height and width only Three-Dimensional: having the dimensions of height, width, and length.
